A liquid crystal device 1 has liquid crystal 110 provided between a counter substrate 2 a and a color filter substrate 2 b. The liquid crystal device 1 has a pixel region 100, a first peripheral region 101 surrounding this pixel region 100, and a second peripheral region 102 surrounding the first peripheral region 101. In the first peripheral region 101, a color layer 120 is disposed which is formed of the same color material as that for a reflective blue color layer 150 B disposed in the pixel region 100. In the second peripheral region 102, a laminate film 140 composed of color layers 140 B, 140 R, and 140 B is disposed, these color layers described above being formed of the same color materials as those for a non-reflective blue color layer 160 B, a non-reflective red color layer 160 R, and a non-reflective green color layer 160 G, respectively. |
