<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a display apparatus outputting a display image of a desired color tone while reduction of luminance is suppressed. <P>SOLUTION: The display apparatus emitting the display image by transmission illumination of a display element with illumination light from a light source is provided with a liquid crystal display element 25 having polarizing films provided on both sides of a liquid crystal cell, a dichroic mirror 26 disposed obliquely to the liquid crystal display element 25, transmitting light L2 of a prescribed wavelength region and reflecting light L2 of a wavelength region other than the prescribed wavelength region and a light emitting diode 22 disposed behind the liquid crystal display element 25 and irradiating the liquid crystal display element 25 with the illumination light. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
