[Also in Divisions E1, E2 and F2] Single sheet panels, Fig. 1 or sandwich panels, Fig. 5 are joined edge to edge by channels 3 each containing flanges 15, 16 projecting inwardly from each side, and between which the edges 11 Fig. 5 of double bends on the edges of the panels 1 are engaged and a sealing strip 2, Fig. 1 of rubber, plastics or metal is engaged between the edges of the panels. The flanges 15, 16 may be inclined away from each other to form a wedge shaped slot in which the edge of the panel is jammed. Shoulders on the strip 2 engage under the flange 16. A panel forming a corner may have half a channel 3 integral with each of its edges parallel to the corner. The strip 2 is inserted between the panels by a hand tool having a roller 8 engaging under the flanges 16 and connected to the handle 5 by a pivoted connection 8a and a fork 6 embracing the strip and pressing it into the gap between the panels by a roller 7. |
