<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an operation stopping method of a fuel cell capable of rapidly dropping temperature of a reformer with a deposit of carbon and oxidation of a catalyst effectively prevented. <P>SOLUTION: The operation stopping method of a fuel cell which reforms mixed gas of hydrocarbon gas and steam to fuel gas containing hydrogen through a reformer storing a reform catalyst and heated and kept by gas ejected from the fuel cell and generates power by supplying the fuel gas to inside of the fuel cell in which air flows, is provided. An amount of supply of the hydrocarbon gas is reduced with the air supply inside the fuel cell continued, and the mixed gas of the reduced amount of hydrocarbon gas and the steam is supplied inside the fuel cell through the reformer. When the reform catalyst temperature is dropped in a range of ±150°C of oxidation generating temperature of the catalyst, the supply of the mixed gas is stopped. After the mixed gas supply is stopped, air or hydrocarbon gas is passed through the reformer to the fuel cell and purges as purged gas. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
