PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a manufacturing method of an image display device, along with a sealing material packing device, capable of holding a specified ultrasonic wave output when packing a metal sealing material under ultrasonic waves to surely suppress splashing of metal sealing material, resulting in improved wettability of the metal sealing material against a sealing surface. SOLUTION: The manufacturing method is provided with a back side board 12, an enclosure that comprises a front side board and is arranged to face the back side board, and a plurality of display elements which are provided in the enclosure and connected to the wiring formed in matrix. The manufacturing method includes a process in which a tip surface 55c of a nozzle 55 where an ultrasonic wave transmission part and a non-ultrasonic wave transmission part are formed is abutted to a sealing surface between the back side board and the front side board, and a molten indium is charged to the sealing surface while the nozzle is applied with ultrasonic waves, and a process in which after the sealing surface is charged with indium, the indium is melted by heating so that the backside board and the front side board are directly or indirectly sealed with the sealing surface.
