PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method of mounting an image sensor with high workability, safety and productivity, while an image sensor surface is protected, and a protective adhesive tape having high heat shrinkability, proper adhesion, visibility and fissile property on the entire tape applicable in mounting of these image sensors. SOLUTION: In the mounting process of the image sensors using solid image devices, an adhesive tape with polyethylene naphthalate (PEN) as a base material having a protrusion for exfoliation on at least a part of the periphery and having an adhesive layer on at least one surface is affixed to the light receiving section of the image sensor.
