PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an indicating device for a vehicle for a rear seat which does not obstruct the rear field of view when a driver checks the rear side. SOLUTION: An indicating section for passengers on the rear seat which is installed on the ceiling section in the cabin between the front seat including the driver's seat and the rear seat of a vehicle is rotated by a rotating section along the ceiling section with the height direction as the axis. The vehicle has a range detecting section which detects a range selecting state of the gearshift lever, and when the selection of the reverse range is detected, the indicating section is rotated to a rotating position at which the driver can check the rear side from a reference position facing the rear seat passenger by rotating the rotating section by a control section, and thus, the checking of the rear side by the driver is made possible. Alternatively, a sensor is attached on the driver's seat, and the indicating section is rotated by detecting the rear side checking status of the driver by the sensor. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
