<p>The invention relates to a device for taking a sample of grains from a standing crop comprising grains and additional materials. The inventive device, which is portable and self-contained, comprises a case (20) containing means for picking, threshing and separating the grains from the additional materials, namely a thresher/picker (22, 23) and a fan blower (26) which are actuated by a motor (30). According to the invention, the fan draws in air and blows same through an internal conduit (37) towards a blow hole (36) which opens to the exterior. The standing crop is forced through the thresher/picker which separates the crop by means of stripping with a comb-type device and which threshes same in order to separate the grains from the additional materials which move together towards the internal conduit in which the lighter additional materials are separated from the grains by the blown air flow and subsequently released from the device, while the grains, which are heavier, are stored in a storage means (33) under the effect of gravity. Preferably, a user-controlled flap provides access to the thresher/picker. The fan and the thresher/picker are preferably driven by an electric motor which is powered by a rechargeable battery.</p> |
