A color separating optical device (30) constituting an optical device (3) separates a light flux projected from an illuminating optical device (20) into three color beams of red, green and blue. The optical device (3) is arranged in a blue color beam optical path, which has the same geometrical length as that of the green color beam, among optical paths of the three color beams reaching each of liquid crystal panels (42R, 42G, 42B) from the illuminating optical device (20). The optical device changes an image location of the blue color beam and is provided with a concave lens (50) for correcting chromatic aberration of the green color beam and the blue color beam. |
