The restraint (10) has a cushion (11) mounted on a metallic structure having a rod vertically movable between different height adjustment positions of the cushion. Two units (15) are placed on either side of the cushion and connected with each other by a framework. The framework has a guide tube to cooperate with the rod. Each unit has an anchoring rod for anchoring an upper part of a child seat (5).
