PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an impact rotary tool which is usable for work that places importance on finishing accuracy without problems, and always carries out the suitable torque control of clamping torque set in a wide range at a low cost. SOLUTION: The impact rotary tool is formed of a rotation driving section for rotating a hammer 2 by a drive shaft 11, an output shaft 3 to which a rotating force is applied upon driving by the hammer 2, a torque setting means 80 for setting a clamping torque value, an operating means 6 for calculating a clamping torque value from the driving operation, a rotating speed setting means 81 for changing a rotating speed of the rotation driving section, and a control means 9 for rotating the rotation driving section at the rotating speed set by the rotating speed setting means 81, and terminating the rotation driving section when the clamping torque value calculated by the operating means 6 is in excess of the clamping torque value preset by the torque setting means 80.
