PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a side trimmer capable of effectively preventing foreign matters caused by chips produced by side trimming, from falling on the upper face of a band plate. SOLUTION: In the side trimmer for allowing an upper blade 2 and a lower blade 3 to abut on both edges of plate width of the running band plate 1 while rotating both blades to cut off both edges, a doctor blade 4 is disposed on the trimmer setting side in contact with the upper blade. The doctor blade is formed in L-shaped tip shape and brought into contact with a peripheral surface of the upper blade and a side face on the band plate travel path side of the upper blade. Further, a vacuum device 5 is disposed with a suction port 5A brought close to the upper face of the doctor blade, and a foreign matter receiving pan 7 for receiving the foreign matters falling from the doctor blade and allowing them to escape to the outside of the band plate travel path is disposed at a holder 6A of grease feeding felt 6.
