A cylinder (1) provided with a metal flap (15, 15a) and a ring with an opening (25, 25a) for being joined to the inner surface of the door, the vehicle body respectively, is filled with a medium (3), getting softer when heated. A piston (2) attached to a piston rod (21, 22) can be axially moved inside the cylinder (1). When a movement of the door is indicated by a sensor a heating element (23) attached to the piston (2) changes the viscosity of the fluid (3) and facilitates a motion of the piston (2).
