<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an image forming apparatus capable of restraining the occurrence of bandings caused by the vibration of a development unit. <P>SOLUTION: The image forming apparatus 100 is equipped with a photoreceptor drum 1, a development unit 2 arranged around the photoreceptor drum 1 and supported to be freely coming close to and from the photoreceptor drum 1, a pressure member 7 energizing the developing unit 2 toward an image carrier, and a vibration isolation member 8 restraining the movement of the development unit 2 coming close to or separating from the photoreceptor drum 1 by frictional force.
