发明名称 EXTERNAL RESONATOR TYPE LASER APPARATUS AND WAVELENGTH CONVERSION APPARATUS USING SAME
摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an external resonator type laser apparatus capable of locking an oscillation wavelength in a wavelength by which conversion efficiency of a nonlinear optical crystal is made nearly maximum independently of temperature, and to provide a wavelength conversion apparatus wherein output of sum frequency light or difference frequency light is hardly changed even if temperature is changed and which is suitable for low power consumption and miniaturization. SOLUTION: The external resonator type laser apparatus has a first reflection element 103, a light emitting element 101 for emitting a first light beam having a first wavelength, a laser 131 for emitting a second light beam having a second wavelength and the non-linear optical crystal 113 having a periodic polarization inversion region 115 and an optical waveguide 117. The periodic polarization inversion region 115 and the optical waveguide 117 are so designed that the first and the second light beams form quasi-phase matching to generate a third light beam having a third wavelength. The external resonator type laser apparatus is so constituted that the first and the second light beams are transmitted in the optical waveguide 117 in one direction to generate the third light beam, the second and the third light beams are transmitted in the direction reverse to the one direction to generate a fourth light beam having the first wavelength and the fourth light beam is returned to the light emitting element 101.
