PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a front bumper for an automobile capable of increasing the amount of air taken into an engine room from the outside of the vehicle without damaging design. SOLUTION: The front bumper 10 for the automobile is disposed in a front part 31a of the vehicle 30 in front of the engine room of the vehicle 30 and is mounted with a license plate 12. The front bumper 10 comprises an intake port 11 for taking the air out of the vehicle 30 into the engine room, and an attaching means 13 for allowing the taking in of the outside air into the engine room through the intake port and supporting the license plate so as to cover the front region of the intake port 11 with the license plate 12.
