An ECG mapping unit, a camera connected to the unit, an ultrasonic device and a specific unit for the detection of the position of the ultra sonic device are used for the collection of the data required. Cross sections of images of hearts with particular pathogenic changes are acquired by using MRI. An apical four chamber ultrasonic cross section is created and its position determined using the camera and the detection unit. By comparing both images the position of the heart can be determined.
