PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain a good quality wall material, the viscosity of which can easily be adjusted when in use in accordance with intended use and which is convenient in spite of the use of powdery plant fibers short in fiber length like wood flours. SOLUTION: In general, it is extremely difficult to obtain a convenient, good quality wall material by using nearly powder-like plant fibers which is hard to effectively utilize the entanglement of fibers as a bond of the wall material, and by only adjusting the density of a water-based glue. In this invention, the above problem is solved by applying characteristics of a thickening polysaccharide imparting to a solution viscosity. The extremely easily coatable convenient wall material can be realized by adding force such as coating, pressing or spreading to the wall material containing a proper amount of the above thickening component.
