<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To notify a management server of information from a peripheral device without interfering normal job processing in the peripheral device. <P>SOLUTION: A device monitor-and-control device is built in a device connected to a management server via a network, monitors the operation of the device and notifies the server of monitor information. The device monitor-and-control device autonomously monitors at least information used for charging for each job to be executed in the device in order that the management server executes accounting management in accordance with a state in which the device is used, and stores job monitor information, the result of the monitoring, for each job, in a monitor information storage region. When the job monitor information is stored in the monitor information storage region, the device monitor-and-control device requests the notification of the job monitor information to the management server, and notifies the management server of the job monitor information in accordance with the response from the management server. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
