<p><P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To obtain block noise judging method and program capable of judging the degree of block noise more properly. <P>SOLUTION: In the block noise judging method, an RGB image is converted into a YIQ color space (S100), and luminance intensity difference between adjacent pixels is calculated for the image of Y channel (S110). As the sum of absolute value of luminance intensity difference between adjacent pixels, smoothness of variation in luminance of that pixel is calculated (S120). As the ratio of averages ave(psx) and ave(psy) of the smoothness of variation in luminance of pixels located at the block boundary and averages ave(nsx) and ave(nsy) of the smoothness of inner pixels not located at the block boundary, a block noise evaluation value B is calculated (S130-S170). A decision is made that a block noise is not generated when the block noise evaluation value B is close to 1 and that the degree of block noise is large as the block noise evaluation value B approaches 10. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI</p> |
