PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for manufacturing an image display device, in which no waste liquid is produced and with which a partition wall is formed with a simple process. SOLUTION: In the method for manufacturing the image display device equipped with a panel for image display, displaying an image by sealing in a picture display medium 3 into a cell surrounded by a partition wall 4 formed in a tightly closed space between two sheets of substrates 1, 2 which are placed opposite to each other and out of which at least one is transparent, imparting an electric field to the image display medium with the electric field applied between the substrates and transferring the image display medium, the partition wall 4 is formed on the substrate with extrusion molding (the first invention), with injection molding (the second invention) or with press molding (the third invention).
