PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To realize a content providing system which can stably provide content. SOLUTION: When content supply request is sent out from a sub-unit 3 to a main unit 2, first, a temporary storage content list LH is retrieved. When the title of request content is registered in the temporary storage content list LH, frequency of directly reading request content from a disk drive 16 can be decreased by obtaining the content from the other sub-unit 3 in which the request content is stored in a memory 34 by the sub-unit 3, and since request content read from the memory 34 of the other sub-unit 3 at high speed can be obtained, a time required for obtaining the content at the time of multi-access can be shortened.
