METHOD FOR PRODUCING ACRYLIC COPOLYMER

PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for producing an acrylic copolymer with which foaming is suppressed without adding an apparatus for defoaming a foamed layer produced from a copolymer latex and the unreacted monomer can efficiently and stably be recovered when the unreacted monomer is recovered in a process of producing the acrylic copolymer consisting essentially of acrylonitrile and vinyl chloride. SOLUTION: The method for producing the acrylic copolymer is characterized as follows. An anti-foaming agent is added to the copolymer latex 1-30 min before the time for starting recovery to thereby suppress the foamed layer produced from the copolymer latex when the unreacted monomer is recovered in the process of producing the acrylic copolymer consisting essentially of the acrylonitrile and vinyl chloride.
