PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a domestic elevator to communicate the downstairs with the upstairs in a house at low cost. SOLUTION: A hoistway 2 is constituted by connecting a first part 3 facing a first floor space, a second part 4 facing a ceiling part between the first floor and the second floor, and a third part 5 facing a second floor space to each other. The vertical length of the first part 3 is set to be as large as or smaller than the height from the floor surface of the first floor to the ceiling surface, and the vertical length of the second part 4 is set to be larger than the length of the height of the ceiling part added to the length of the difference between the ceiling height on the first floor and the vertical length of the first part 3, and as large as or larger than the vertical length of the ceiling part so that the third part 5 is positioned to the second floor surface based on the length adjustment of front and rear longitudinal frames 11, 12 of the second part 4.
