PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a technique capable of securing sufficient charge time of EDUs even in a structure for supplying electric power to fuel injection valves of eight cylinders by means of the two EDUs. SOLUTION: This eight-cylinder engine is provided with the fuel injection valves provided in each cylinder of the eight-cylinder engine and injecting fuel; a fist valve drive means 12 for supplying electric power to four fuel injection valves out of the eight fuel injection valves to open/close the four fuel injection valves; and a second valve drive means 13 for supplying electric power to four fuel injection valves other than the said four fuel injection valves to open/close the four injection valves. The both valve drive means 12, 13 open/close the fuel injection valves provided in the cylinders whose explosion strokes are performed at regular intervals. For example, the first valve drive means 12 supplies electric power to the fuel injection valves provided in the first, fourth, sixth and seventh cylinders, and the second valve drive means 13 supplies electric power to the fuel injection valves provided in the second, third, fifth and eighth cylinders.
