PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a multi-layer edge filter whose loss as an optical wavelength selecting circuit, for example, is very small and whose dispersion is small, which enables the multi-layer edge filter in a good state for mass production at a low cost. SOLUTION: A multi-layer film whose filter characteristics are satisfactory and transmissive light beams from the multi-layer filter and emission position of the reflected light beams are aligned is obtained by setting wavelength depending coefficients A(λ) and G(λ) and controlling the axial shift of the transmissive light beams and the apparent reflection position of the reflected light beams.
