PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a belt member usable for a fixing device of an induction heat system, with which the wear resistance and peeling resistance of the surface of a belt member are improved while the releasability relative to toner is maintained. SOLUTION: The fixing device 60 for fixing a toner image held on paper P includes: a fixing belt 61 having a releasing layer formed on its external surface; a magnetic field generating unit 85 for heating the fixing belt 61 by electromagnetic induction; and a pressure roll 62 for forming a nip N, through which the paper P is passed, in pressure contact with the fixing belt 61. In the fixing belt 61, the releasing layer is formed from a metal composite plating film in which fine particles of fluorine system compound are rendered eutectoid. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
