PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an endoscope system having high observation property, when using an endoscope with a normal visibility angle and a wide-angle endoscope, by reducing a brightness difference between respective image surfaces projected on a monitor screen. SOLUTION: This endoscope system is provided with a first endoscope having a first observation optical system having a first visibility angle and a first illumination optical system; and a second endoscope having a second illumination optical system having a second visibility angle wider than the first visibility angle. This system is so arranged that, at an arbitrary distance from the distal ends of the respective insertion parts of the first endoscope and the second endoscope to the observation direction, a second illumination range of the illumination light illuminated by the second illumination optical system and having a predetermined luminance becomes wider than the first illumination range illuminated by the first illumination optical system and having a predetermined luminance.
