PURPOSE:To effectively protect a motor and a circuit by gradually increasing a winding current irrespective of a speed command in 60 deg. current flowing mode at starting time, and judging as a malfunction if the rotation is not started during the period, thereby discovering a defect at the starting time. CONSTITUTION:A speed controller 7 which inputs a speed command 105 and a position detection signal 65 from a position detection sensor 6 such as a Hall element is provided outside a current limiter 8 to control the speed of a brushless synchronous motor 5. In this case, a current command value IDR from a speed controller 7 is gradually increased irrespective of the value of the command 105 during at least one 60 deg. current flowing mode period immediately after starting flowing the current. If next 60 deg. current flowing mode is varied during the increasing, it is returned to the normal control mode based on the value 105, and when not varied to the next 60 deg. current flowing mode, it is judged as no starting of rotating to set the current command to ''0''. |
