A process (and corresponding system) for separating a high purity gas (e.g. oxygen (14)) from a feed gas stream (e.g. air (1)) that includes heating the feed gas stream (105) before passing the heated feed gas stream through a ceramic membrane (107) to separate a gas component (14) from the other components (13) of the gas stream.
