PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To prevent deterioration in electron sources and to maintain uniformity of luminance in a display device which employs a plurality of electron sources arranged in a matrix manner. SOLUTION: In the plurality of electron sources arranged in the matrix manner, the amplitude of a data pulse which corrects a voltage dropΔV caused by a wiring resistance of a top section electrode bus line is set to V3+ΔV to maintain the uniformity of luminance over the entire display screen. At that time, contrast reduction of the display caused by the voltage increase of the data pulse is prevented by applying a polarity reversed pulse 403 during an interval in whichΔV becomes large.
