PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an easily operable rod for fishing intended for the rod for the fishing in a type of attaching a reel upward based on the rod. SOLUTION: The rod 1 for the fishing is formed out of a rod 2 and a grip 3. The grip 3 has a front grip part 3a to which the reel 4 can be attached, and a rear grip part 3b enabling holding by one hand. The front grip 3a has a reel-attaching seat 15 forming an upward horizontal face, and a cylindrical part 14 present at the lower side of the attaching seat 15 and having the cross section drawing nearly a semicircle protruding downward. A concave part is formed in the cylindrical part 14, and a pad member 16 made of an elastomer and forming a flat and flexible finger-contacting part 16a is fitted in the concave part.
