PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a treating method by which selenium and fluorine in a solution containing selenium and fluorine can be removed continuously at a high removal rate and the amount of a chemical to be used for removing selenium and fluorine can be made smaller than the amount used in the conventional methods. SOLUTION: The treating method comprises the steps of: adding an acid to the liquid to be treated to acidify the liquid to be treated and adding a ferrous compound to the acidified liquid to obtain an acidic solution; adding an alkaline agent to the obtained acidic solution at a predetermined spot while circulating the obtained acidic solution in one direction and alkalifying pH of the acidic solution behind the predetermined spot to obtain slurry containing a precipitate containing ferrous hydroxide and selenium; adding phosphoric acid to the obtained slurry to obtain slurry containing a precipitate consisting of ferrous hydroxide, selenium, and fluorophosphate; and subjecting the obtained slurry to solid-liquid separation to obtain a selenium/fluorine-removed liquid.
