PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To recognize a marking stuck to the surface of a metallic sheet even when the marking is heated/cooled repeatedly. SOLUTION: The subject marking method comprises the step of forming a reference line, which can be recognized even when heated/cooled, on the metallic sheet when the metallic sheet is fabricated by heating/cooling it. A molten material obtained by heating/melting a powdery material is stuck to the metallic sheet to form the reference line on the metallic sheet. An inorganic colored pigment and glass are used as the principal components of the powdery material. Iron, a ferroalloy including stainless steel, aluminum or an aluminum alloy is used as the material of the metallic sheet. COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI
