PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To make a bidirectional optical connection between arbitrary channels with high efficiency by using a mutually excitation type phase conjugate mirror. SOLUTION: First signal light beams 1 and 2 are inputted from individual channels ch1 and ch2 of a first signal light input part 5 to photorefractive crystal 7 and second signal light beams 1' and 2' having different polarized light components from the first signal light beams 1 and 2 are inputted from individual channels ch1 and ch2 of a second signal light input part 6, so that both the signal light beams cross each other. Intensity ratios of the first and second signal light beams 1 and 2, and 1' and 2' are within a conjugate mirror formable range where the mutual excitation type phase conjugate mirror 8 can be formed in a signal light crossing area between channels to be connected and outside the conjugate mirror formable range, i.e., where the mutual excitation type phase conjugate mirror 8 can not be formed between channels not be connected.
