摘要 PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To deentrain liquid droplets from a gas. SOLUTION: In multi-stage distillation equipment having a separation apparatus for deentraining the liquid droplets caught by a gaseous stream flowing countercurrently to a liquid flow descending in the apparatus, the separation apparatus installed on a contact tray comprises hierarchies vertically arranged at spaced intervals consisting of liquid collection channels with an opening on the horizontal top, and the liquid collection channels are arranged in parallel across the gas flow. The liquid collection channels are vertically arranged alternately, and the gas flow from the lower hierarchy level is made to pass between the collection channels of the upper hierarchies and through the gaps around the channels and is deflected so that the entrained liquid droplets are separated from the gas stream inertially into the channels of the lower hierarchies. The collected liquid is returned to the contact tray through a liquid downcomer. The channels have stream deflectors extending horizontally and downward from the channels of the upper hierarchies toward the channels of the lower hierarchies.
