PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide the concentrated winding stator coil of a rotary electric machine capable of reducing the size and weight of the rotary electric machine and exhibiting excellent cooling performance and insulation resistance. SOLUTION: The teeth root side take-out type two layer winding stator coil comprises a first layer coil 21 wound from the root part to the forward end of a teeth 110 on the surface thereof, a second layer coil 22 wound from the forward end to the root part of the teeth 110 on the first layer coil 21, lead wires 23, 24 being extended radially outward from the start of the first layer coil 21 and the end of the second layer coil 22. The teeth coils 20 are connected in series for every phase to constitute a phase winding and a crossover bus bar group 80 is contained in a square cross-section space having two sides being defined by a core back 120 and the coil end of the teeth coil 20.
