PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a highly efficient motor cooler for a turbo refrigeration system. SOLUTION: In this turbo refrigerator, taking the rotational speed of the motor as a rotational speed for a turbo compressor, as it is, is provided with a gas-liquid separator, which extracts refrigerant in the turbo refrigerator and separates the refrigerant into a gas phase and a liquid phase. A hole is formed in a stator, to form a passage for supplying refrigerant into a clearance between the stator and a rotor. Through the passage, the refrigerant of the gas phase extracted by the gas-liquid separator is introduced into the clearance for cooling. Because the refrigerant of the gas phase has less friction than that of the liquid phase (or the mixed two phases of the gas phase and liquid phase), the efficiency with which the motor converts electric power into mechanical power. is enhanced.
