The system (1) has a computer assisted monitoring device (11) connected to both the master automating device (7) and the standby automating device (9). An input process image with respect to a number of process data can be transmitted to the monitoring device. The monitoring device is used to derive a comparison process image with respect to a number of output signals of the automating system.
