PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a disaster prevention system which surely acts when an earthquake occurs, and can perform corresponding action before and after the arrival of the earthquake. SOLUTION: A disaster prevention system has a receiver 1, which is provided with a reception part 10 for receiving disaster advance information from a seismometer 3 having detected an preliminary tremor of an earthquake, a vibration sensor 14 for detecting principal motion of the earthquake, an alarm generation part 22 for generating an alarm, an alarm storage part 11 for storing the alarm, and a control part 20 for controlling generation of an alarm and equipment. On receiving the disaster advance information, the control part 20 reads out an alarm prior to the arrival of principal motion from the alarm storage part 11 and makes the alarm generation part 22 generate the alarm, stops the equipment, and executes cutoff control. On detection of principal motion of the earthquake by the vibration sensor 14, the control part 20 reads out an alarm for arrival time of the principal motion from the alarm storage part 11 and makes the alarm generation part 22 generate the alarm. When the vibration sensor 14 does not detect the principal motion of earthquake, the control part 20 reads out an alarm for after the termination of the principal motion from the alarm storage part 11 and makes the alarm generation part 22 generate the alarm.
