PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for forming an image by which the temperature of a rotating body to heat a transfer material can be raised in a short period of time to a specified temperature (quick start property), sufficient fixing property of a toner image can be secured in a wide temperature range, and uniform gloss can be attained. SOLUTION: In the method for forming an image, a fixing apparatus employing a surface heating system in which the rotating body to heat the transfer material is heated from the surface side of the rotating body, is used, when an unfixed toner image on a transfer material is to be fixed. The toner used for the method comprises toner particles containing a binder resin essentially comprising at least a styrene-acryl compound, a colorant, and a wax component, and inorganic fine particles, and shows each specified ratio of storage moduli at 80°C and 100°C, storage modulus at 160°C, number average molecular weight in a THF soluble component, weight average molecular weight and the ratio of these, weight average particle diameter, and average circularity.
