PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a flat image display device capable of coping with a large-sized flat image display device, having a supporting frame with improved adhering strength. SOLUTION: The flat image display device is composed of a display side substrate 2, a backside substrate 3 arranged so as to face the display side substrate 2 with a prescribed distance, and a frame glass 11 arranged at a peripheral part of the display side substrate 2 and the backside substrate 3, holding and supporting the display side substrate 2 and the backside substrate 3 with a prescribed distance. End parts of the frame glass 11 are formed so as to have at least two or more steps, and the stepped end parts of the frame glass are fitted, adhered, and fixed to each other.
