PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a method for immobilizing a protein on a membrane, wherein the activity of the immobilized protein can be maintained without being lowered, even if it is preserved for a long period, and to provide an immunoassay device and an immunoassay kit. SOLUTION: In this method, a protein to be immobilized such as an antibody is suspended in a sugar-containing aqueous solution or in a sugar-containing buffer solution and immobilized on a nitrocellulose membrane or the like. The immunoassay device includes the membrane, where the protein is immobilized by the method, and the immunoassay kit including the device can be used safely, because the activity of the protein in an immunoreaction or the like will not be lowered, even if it is preserved over a long period.
