<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a presence information update system for updating presence information without any autonomous action from a user and performinga service control in accordance with the presence information. <P>SOLUTION: The user of a communication terminal 2 who obtains a tag associates a tag ID with processing contents for registration through a network 4. For example, a personal tag 202 installed in a bedroom are associated with processing contents "automatic answering telephone connection" and a personal tag 202 installed at a dining table is associated with processing contents "normal calling", respectively for registration.
