PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide an ink-jet recorder capable of keeping a uniform performance of the whole line-head part even when the performance of the whole line-head part is reduced by repeating the recording operation. SOLUTION: The ink-jet recorder, by which the recording operation on a recording paper is performed using the line head in which two or more nozzles are linearly arranged in the direction crossing against the conveying direction of the recording paper, is equipped with a history storage means storing the recording history, a width-information detection means detecting the recording-paper width information of the recording paper, a nozzle service area determination means determining the nozzle using area at the line head and a line-head movement means making the line head part moved to the nozzle service area determined by the nozzle service area determination means.
