STEERING SYSTEM

The inventive steering system (1) for a motor vehicle comprises a steering wheel (2) which is mechanically coupled with the vehicle steerable wheels (11) through a steering column (3). In order to produce a superimposing quantity (U), said system is provided with a superimposing actuator (26) controllable by a control device (25) independently of a driver. A superimposing device (6) superimposes the steering wheel quantity ( delta H) describing the actuation thereof and the superimposing quantity (U) for producing an output quantity. A steering actuator (19) adjusts a steering angle ( delta L) of the vehicle steerable wheels (20) according to said output quantity. Said system also comprises an adjusting device (27) controllable by the control device (25) for producing the adjusting device torque (MS) acting on the steering column. Said control device (25) simultaneously controls the superimposing actuator (26) and the adjusting device (27), thereby influencing, independently of the driver, on the steering angle ( delta L) and on a retroaction moment (MR) acting on the steering wheel (2) and produced on the base of the superimposing quantity (U) and the adjusting device torque (MS).
