<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a burglar preventive device for a vehicle capable of preventing the vehicle from burglary originating from an undue attachment to vehicle of a communication chip which accommodates the ID code of a portable unit. <P>SOLUTION: An engine start is admitted when the ID code on the key side accommodated in the communication chip installed in a vehicle key and the registered ID code stored in the memory of an immobilizer control ECU mounted on the vehicle are verified identical to each other through code collation. The door is closed in the condition that the key is drawn off from an ignition key cylinder, and when locked, the mode setting for vehicle burglary deed is transferred from the non-alert mode to the alert mode. If the result from code collation reveals the ID code being identical in the situation where the vehicle is in the alert mode, an alarm, notification, etc. is emitted so as to suppress undue engine starting by notifying the authorized vehicle user or the like of the fact that the vehicle engine may be started unduly. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
