PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To secure a necessary contact pressure without enlarging a contact spring load. SOLUTION: In an electromagnetic relay, moving contacts 35 on contact pieces 34 are completely attracted to fixed contacts 48 by moving them to the fixed contacts 48 sides resisting reset springs 23 of a guide 21. There are formed auxiliary spring members 36 on both sides of which the spring pieces 37 are formed and adhere the members 36 are fixed to the contact pieces 34. The guide 21 is formed with abutting parts 33 which generate loads F3 by abutting on and bending the spring pieces 37 by the movement of the guide 21. The loads F3 of the spring pieces 37 are generated immediately before the moving contacts 35 are completely attracted to the fixed contacts 48, and contact spring loads F2 of contact springs 39 and the loads F3 act on the contact pieces 34 as the contact pressure, to attract the moving contacts 35 attracted completely to the fixed contacts 48.
