PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a hard sintered compact comprising a composite compound phase optimum for a wear resistant tool, a corrosion resistant component, a member for high temperature use or the like by remarkably improving the hardness, heat resistance, corrosion resistance, oxidation resistance or the like of cemented carbide. SOLUTION: The hard sintered compact comprising a 10 to 60 vol.% planar composite compound phase composed of an iron group element(s), the group 6a element(s) in the Periodic Table, silicon and boron, a 0 to 5 vol.% metal bond phase essentially consisting of an iron group element(s), and the balance tungsten carbide and/or cubic compound composed of at least one kind selected from the carbides, nitrides, carbonitrides of the group 4a, 5a and 6a elements in the Periodic Table and a mutual solid solution thereof with inevitable impurities has excellent hardness, heat resistance, corrosion resistance and oxidation resistance, thus can be used for a wear resistant tool, a corrosion resistant component, a member for high temperature use or the like.
