<P>PROBLEM TO BE SOLVED: To provide a projector capable of simply correcting chrominance aberration caused by a projection lens or the like without performing specific processing or the like for a cross dichroic prism. <P>SOLUTION: Illumination light beams, i.e. image light beams, modulated by respective liquid crystal light valves 25a to 25c are synthesized by the cross dichroic prism 27 and made incident on the projection lens 29. The image light made incident on the projection lens 29 is projected to a screen (not shown). Since the refractive index of a first prism member P1 in the cross dichroic prism 27 for light synthesis is larger than that of other prism members P2, P3, P4, the width of a red projection image can be enlarged as compared with that of other color projection images, so that the chrominance aberration of the projection lens can be simply corrected. <P>COPYRIGHT: (C)2006,JPO&NCIPI |
